Last Post For 2019

Thanks to Miss Fitzpatrick, Mr Dishpande and Miss Burt for being my teachers this year. Next year will be my last year of Owairaka. I am so happy because I will be a Year 6 and that means I will be a leader of the school. My class I'm going to be in Room 24 and I'm so happy too because the teacher is going to be Miss Mills and she is my favourite teacher. I'm going to miss my class because Room 7 was the best class ever that I have been in.

Family Fun Night 😁😁👍👍

Hey guys. if you are at Owairaka Primary School, You know it's family fun night tonight. I love family fun night because there is lots of yummy food that fills the air with sweet smell, and there is lots of games. Last year, (In 2018), my favourite game was a table tennis game where you have to hit the ball and try to land on a lolly. I think I got about five lollies. They were so chewy and yummy! It's going to be a great time tonight. And also i'm in the Nuien group and we are going to perform on the stage last. I don't know why. So yeah that's what is going to happen tonight on 28 November! Tread Lightly

On Tuesday 12 November the amazing tread lightly came to our School! we learned about drains and were they go. we went to the caravan and we had to decide witch goes down were. i had paint and water mixed. i decided to put it down the sink. the funny part was hood got pee and zudais got a nappy. also, there was this cool model too! we also had  a drain hunt, and a VR session!

The Start of a New Beginning (Writing)

One day some eggs were hatching, all of the eggs hatched but just one did not hatch. Years fly by but the lonely egg did not hatch. Then, it did! Only just 3 years after the other eggs hatched and it hatched! Out came the little turtle. He saw the sea and slowly crawled to its new home. It’s epic journey was only the beginning... 

The Time Traveller (Writng)

The clock was the key to everything; the key to moving through time and space, now that he had it, he could time travel to stop plastic pollution. He set the the year to 1907, when plastic was just invented. He time travelled to a contest. He landed on the back of the stage. Then he saw him, Leo Hendrik Baekeland! (the inventor of plastic). “Excuse me Leo,” Who are you?” said Leo looking puzzled. “My name is Theo, and I have come here to stop plastic!” “But why?” “Because it kills our sea life.” “Right, then!” “let's get rid of Plastic!” said Leo. “That’s the spirit!” said Theo. Then he time travelled to the right year. When he got back, everything looked PERFECT! He was happy that he became a hero. THE END.

The Deep (Writing)

One day I was swimming in the cool, fresh ocean and there was something lurked upon me. It was a strange creature with a really huge mouth! I took a photo of it. “I could become famous!” I thought to myself . after I took a photo, it quickly swam away like a Red Bull RB13. I was the best day ever for me.

                   For Maths today we were trying to find the average height and weight                                                  of the rugby teams in the rugby world cup. i did this by using functions on google sheets. ( the function button looks like a weird E.) Then i dragged the numbers, and then hit enter and the copy and pasted the answer on a new google sheet.

Number 28

Thump...Thump...Thump... His stomps thundered down the road. causing the road to rumble, dogs to howl in back yards. And old laydes to look out of there bedroom window with weird looks on there faces. This metallic machine meant business. "Number 28 checking in. Over." He spoke into his radio set built in his helmet. He was talking to Professor Stupido, the worlds greatest uneventer. The instructions crackled through the earpiece he knew what to do... His job was to destroy the town. a few hours later he destroyed the town. Then he used his rocket boots to fly to base. Then he met Professor Stupido. Professor Stupido was so glad that he unevented number 28! The End.

NZ international film festival

Hey guys. At the first of August we went to the NZ international film festival. My favourite film was one called "Do Not Touch." It was quite funny! It was about a boy in a little room with just a light bulb and and a light switch. And above it was a message that said "Do Not Touch!" The boy just really wanted to flicked the switch but he knew that he was not allowed. But then, he flicked it! When he flicked it, everything was pitched black. It was like somebody spilled some black ink everywhere. When he flicked the switch back on, there was just his eye balls!!! And they fell down to the ground.

Cross Country

Every school morning the whole Kauri team does cross country practice. We have to run/walk for 10 mins and when time is up a teacher blows a whistle to alert us that time is up.
