Anzac Biscuits

Hi guys. For Anzac day we made Anzac biscuits and here's how to make them.

125g butter (or margarine if using dairy free recipe)

1 cup sugar

2 1/2 tbsp golden syrup

1 cup plain flour

1 1/2 cups rolled oats

1/2 cups coconut

1/4 tsp salt

1 tsp baking soda

                                                  Method:

1. Preheat oven to 170 degrees C. Line a large baking tray with baking paper
2. Add the butter, sugar and golden syrup to a medium saucepan over a medium-low heat. Stir until the butter is only just melted, then remove from the heat. You don't need to wait for the sugar to dissolve. Add the flour, oats, coconut and salt, and stir to combine.
3. Boil the jug.
4. Add the baking soda to a mug. Pour 3 tablespoons of just-boiled water into the mug, stir and immediately add to the biscuit mixture. Stir to combine evenly.

5. Place large heaped tablespoons of the mixture on the baking tray, about 7 cm apart as the biscuits will spread while cooking.
6. Bake in the oven for about 17-19 minutes.

7. Allow to cool on the trays for five minutes, then use a metal spatula to transferred into a while cooling rack.

                       ENJOY

My recycled art

Hi everyone. One of the tasks that I could do during lockdown was make a piece of art using recycled materials.
I decided to make a funny mask out of a paper bag.  I used the paper bag, a toilet paper roll, paint, star sequins and bottle caps. First I cut off the handles and put the bag on my head to see what it looked like. Then my mum marked where my eyes are. Mum helped me to cut out circles for the eyes.
Then we cut little slits on the toilet paper roll and fold them out.  I decided to paint it green because I like the colour green. Then we we sprinkled the star sequins on the wet roll.
Next I used the hot glue gun to glue on the roll to make the nose. Then my mum had a great idea, she thought that we could use the handles to make hair. I thought it was brilliant. I paint each hair a different colour, red, blue, yellow and orange. Finally I glued on the bottle caps using the hot glue gun on the sides and this is what it turned out like...

Hang On Writing

One day I asked my Dad if we could go on a trip and he said sure. So we start driving to the train station. We sit down and wait for the train. “Ummmmm… Dad, can I go to the toilet?” I said. “OK,” said Dad. “But we only have 5 minutes until the train arrives.” So I go zooming to the toilet. 20 minutes later I come back but my Dad has a feirce look on his face. I asked him why he was so angry and he said that I took too long and we missed the train. So we had to wait for an hour until the next train arrived. A couple of minutes later, Dad decided we had to go home because he was sick of waiting. When we started walking back to our car, a train came in to say hello and it looked like it was travelling at the speed of light. Somehow my hand was sucked onto the side of it like there was an invisible magnetic feild. I was flying like Superman!  The magnetic feild was about to steal Dad’s new camera but I grabbed it in the nick of time. Then I realised the train was our train and I was hurtling down the track like I was on a crazy roller coaster ride. Well, it looks like I’m going on our trip but without my Dad!!!!!!
