Sick sentences (Again)

This is today's sick sentence: The big giant opened his mouth and yelled. His big head was a grey colour. He was really big and angry.

Now to make it healthy.... The humongous giant shock his bolder like head from side to side in exasperation. From out of his enormous mouth came a roar so loud it made peoples ears bleed!!

mask off entry

Kia ora everyone here is a sock mask that we made at the start of lock down using a video Mum found on Facebook. It has the same instructions as the video that is on our  class blog.

Word meanings

Another activity was to find the meaning of these words and then put them into a sentence.

Growled = make a low guttural sound in the throat

Snarled = make an aggressive growl with bared teeth

Huffed = blow out air loudly on account of exertion

Puffed = a short burst of breath or wind.

The big bad bad wolf growled when he approached the pigs house.  He could see the pig inside looking scared at the sight of his big sharp teeth so he snarled at him loudly.

The pig wouldn't let him inside so there was only one thing to do, he puffed  and he puffed and he puffed until he could puff no more. Using his last bit of energy he noisily huffed out two more breaths as the house finally hit the ground.

Acrostic poem

 Hi bloggers.

One of the activities to do was make a acrostic poem. The word that we had to use was RESOURCEFUL. Here it is:

Resilient

Exploring

Smart

Observant

Useful

Resourceful

Courageous

Entertainment

Fantastic

Unique

Loving

Hope you enjoyed this blog post! 😁

Sick sentences

Here is the sick sentence I am going to make healthy 😁

The Jedi landed on the runway. There were lots of Stormtroopers. There were lots of aircraft.

As the young Jedi approached the runway he nervously took in the sea of Stormtroopers below him. He would have to navigate his way carefully to find a safe place to land while avoiding both the stormtroopers and other aircraft in the area.

Whale slide

After exploring  the Young Ocean Explorers  website I decided I would create this slide about whales. You can find some interesting facts about whales in the slide.

Story starter

Morena everyone here is my writing using today's story starter.

They were beginning to regret venturing into the giants' garden this morning.  The tall plants surrounded them in every direction they looked, their roots were as big as fallen logs making progress slow. They had to keep going as their cat Jeff was in there somewhere.

"Jeff, Jeff" they called, their voices getting lost in the huge garden. Suddenly they heard a noise, was it Jeff or was it the giant.....????

Origami sea creatures

Today we made some Origami sea creatures. We made whales, squid and fish.

Here are some photos:

Here is a video of how to make the whales.

Sick sentences

Here is the sick sentence that I am going to fix: The man walked up the path towards the top. He was wearing warm clothes. It was windy. He was scared.

Battling fatigue and fear the man pushed his way towards the top, the howling gale chilling him to the bones despite the layers of clothing he was wearing in an attempt to protect himself from the conditions.

Here is the next one: A man stood in the snow. It was really cold. He wore a coat. It was ripped. He wanted to climb the cliff.

A lone man stood in the snow gazing up at the challenge ahead of him. His Grandad's old army jacket was no protection from the frosty world that surrounded him.

Teriyakilantis!

What food would I make gigantic? That's an easy one! My favourite food: teriyaki chicken on rice with Japanese mayo!

I love it so much I would swim in it. Check me out!

If this was real it would be super cool. Would you think it would be cool?

Emoji Bookmarks

This is another activity that we did during the lock down. For this activity we made emoji bookmarks. We found folding the paper a lot easier for this activity. We followed this video of how to make it.

Here are some photos:

I'm copying my one: Grinning face with smiling

                                                           eyes

Paper Fidget Spinner

During the level 3 lockdown, My mum, little brother and I made a paper fidget spinner! It was a suggested activity on my class blog. We watched a video and followed the instructions. It was a bit tricky because we had to do a lot of folding with the paper. We found the toothpick and the cardboard flimsy, so we modified it with some Lego. Then Mum had the idea to turn one into a windmill using a old clothes peg and a drawing pin.

If you want to try to make this, here is the Link
